A field guide to reading fluency

Just a quick entry to share a recent blog for Herts for Learning that looks at reading fluency in a variety of ways. Within, you will find: definition of terms; why it matters; how we might help to develop this aspect of reading when development stalls; cautionary notes around use of strategies and approaches as they gaining greater traction domestically through sharing on social media; extensive further reading references and links.

There is plenty to chew on and mull over, perhaps across the summer. I hope it is helpful and I seriously welcome feedback as the blog has already benefited from commentary on twitter. With thanks to all of my colleagues on the @HertsEnglish team.
